Our approach
This site is deliberately light on cookies. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, but only if you agree. We don't use advertising cookies.
What is stored
Your browser may store a small amount of local data directly on your device to make the site work as expected, such as a light/dark theme preference and your cookie choice. This never leaves your browser and isn't linked to your identity.
Analytics cookies (optional)
If you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID. They count visits and show us which pages are read, how people arrive on the site and what device and approximate location they browse from. We use this only to improve the site. The cookies last up to two years. Google processes this data on our behalf and may do so outside the UK under its own safeguards. Google Analytics does not store your full IP address.
If you choose "Reject", or make no choice, no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics is not loaded.
Third-party fonts
This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading a font involves a request to Google's servers, which may log standard technical information such as your IP address, under Google's own privacy policy.
Managing this
You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. You can also clear stored site data through your browser's settings. Doing so won't affect anything else on the site.
